Sairah, from Smokefree Bristol - who is very pro-vaping, attended GFN etc - is running three vaping events next week.
Here is what she has written about it:
"For our Stoptober campaign this year we are organising 3 evening vaping events across Bristol. They will be called “vape2save” events and they will kick off our “Switchover with Stoptober” campaign. These events are aimed at smokers who are nervous about trying vaping and would like to know more about vaping in order to feel confident enough to think about switching over.
The VAPE2SAVE events will be held in:
Hartcliffe Community Centre 27/9/16 7:00-9:00
Greenway Centre in Southmead 28/9/16 6:00-8:00
Barton Hill Settlement 29/9/16 5:30-7:30
The evening will be focused on vapers helping smokers using a “speed dating” format. We are hoping that every smoker will have the chance to speak to at least 5-7 experienced vapers for five minutes each to find out: 1) Why they switched?, 2) How they switched, 3) Why they prefer vaping to tobacco, 4) How to puff from an e-cig, 5) Did they use any other NRT to help them and other top tips.
During the evening our local Smokefree teams will be on hand to talk about e-cig the latest research and guidance and of course to sign up anyone who would like take part in Stoptober.
Local e-cig shops will also be attending and there will be a grand raffle!
If you would like to share your vaping story and be a vaping mentor for any of our events please contact Sairah on @sairahss or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in vaping and would like to come to an informal friendly event to find out more about vaping or even to have a go with a variety of e-cigs you can get in touch as above or just turn up. Even better, bring your friends
If you are a vaping shop in Bristol and have not yet received a letter of invitation please don’t hesitate to contact me."
She is having difficulty finding enough vapers willing to turn up to offer advice, experience etc. I'm hoping some people here might be able to turn up to help!
