RE: How to make a curved SS Mesh Wick
Thanks for posting this - it's good to know the paper clip can be taken out afterwards without buggering it up, I wondered if that would be the hitch in the whole thing.

You can also use some thin wire like stripped down network cable

Good vid.

An additional tip that really does make it easier is if you cut the mesh diagonally (so that weave runs diagonally through the square piece of mesh - there's a word for this - can't think for the life of me what it is).

How to make a curved SS Mesh Wick
The only problem with the above method is you usually end up with a very stiff wick. I find it easier to roll the mesh on the diagonal using a large paper clip, then torch it once all over. When it's cool, insert a bit of solder and roll it about while flexing the mesh until it's floppy. Remove the solder and torch it again. Repeat this a few times until the wick is a lovely matt grey, and still floppy. Smiling

I often forget to burn some juice on it, but maybe once or twice is best just to finish it off.

Here is the result on a mini hellfire Smiling

RE: How to make a curved SS Mesh Wick
Thanks for all the info's, paperclip is so handy for bending it in shape, bit tricky to pull out but works.
I am going try a ss-mesh wick for my RTA and making a step by step guide with video inclusive of
how long to cut the mesh etc etc.

thanks for your guides so far folks, great inspiration, keep it up...

edit: still at it, jeepers its doing me headaches, fiddly fiddly, i must... patience
