Its the 510 pin thats restricting the airflow. I think Im going to try and pass a small drill bit down the center of the pin to try and widen it a bit.

Here is a pic with the 510 pin taken out

İmage

If I can get a drill bit small enough :-)

Have you aligned the hole in the base of the head with the hole in the 510?
If you over-tighten you'll restrict the airflow.
I took some pics on my little review

That was the 1st thing I checked. Nice review BTW. Seems that the holes havmt been drilled straight? When ones lined up the other isnt. Will have a mess about again tomorrow and see whats what

Hi,

Got my Coolfire 1 a couple of days ago, It makes a small buzz when firing, is this normal or is it just mine ?

Thanks

Just ran a 1.5mm drill bit down the 510 pin to open the airflow up a bit. Certainly has helped a bit. Maybe worth a go if the draw is too tight

The iclear 30b is now performing rather well. I noticed while I was cleaning it the atty has air holes on the side of the bottom, these air holes line up with other air holes in the bit you screw the atty into..... Newbie mistake I was slightly over tightening that bit and restricting air flow.

Very happy with the while package now. I'm still going to get a 1.5 & 1.8 ohm coils to see what it's like.

Cheers and sorry for making the iclear 30b sound pretty rubbish.

with fixed watts your ohms wont change anything.
no matter what ohms you run on you will still get the same power output of 8.5 watts of power
power = vapour production

That's interesting vaperzuk,

Maybe my 1.8 EVOD coil is just made better than the 2.5 one as there is a noticable difference on the coolfire, 1.8 being the best. I'll definately keep this in mind though.

Also I'm interested in how the EVOD 1.8 also performs better on the fixed ego battery - maybe that's fixed power thus lower ohms works better, is that right ?

Cheers..

PS - Pat and Nike, the strange noise you're hearing is the internal chip on the Coolfire, other brands also make that noise... eg Vamo and KSD ( from what I've read and seen on youtube anyway ), it's pretty common and nothing to worry about..

a 1.8 ohm coil with a standard ego @3.7 volts gives you 7.6 watts of power
a 2.5 ohm coil with a standard ego @3.7 volts gives you 5.5 watts of power
and on a fixed wattage device you will get
8.5 watts on the innokin no matter what your coil is.

check for yourself on a ohms calculator
on a fixed voltage battery you change your resistance to get more or less power
eg 1.8 = more watts
2.5 = less watts
on a vv you can keep you coil the same and up the volts to get more power
eg 2.5 ohms @ 3.7 volts = 5.5 watts
2.5 ohms @4.8 volts = 9.2 watts

on a vw you can set you watts to what you want eg 7.5 (works for me)
and then it doesn't matter about ohms or volts as the device delivers the same 7.5 watts all the time.

so on fixed watts like the cool fire 1 you should always get 8.5 watts
as for what your saying about the different coils are they both evod?
I notice on my rda I only need 7.5 watts but on my kanger I need 8-8.5 watts to get the same warmth and hit, I put this down to the kanger being a bcc and has to come from the bottom wheres the rda has very little distance to travel.
the evod and iclear might deliver the juice differently and air flow could be different as well.

hope that makes sense
