Innokin iTaste MVP - WRAP - Guide and Template
Hi everyone my 3rd post here so hope it can be of use to someone.

As mentioned in my intro post yesterday I now have an MVP which i think is great but thought it could do wilth looking a little more special so I wrapped it (anyone who wants the template just drop me a line, I have it in publisher or PDF formats).

Anyhow thought I'd do a little how to as well (although it is bloomin shimples)

I chose 3M Di Noc wrap as it's much more realistic than most vinyl, much harder wearing, you get no bubbles (coming form a man who has never fitted a screen protector without it looking like bubble wrap this is no mean feat) and finally and most importantly I already had some Big Grin

So on with the guide:

My setup started out looking like this:

İmage

From that I took a template .... 5 attempts later it looks like this (I've since modified it slightly but you get the gist):

İmage

my advice is to print it out onto paper and give it a test fit, fold where the lines are as it'll give you a more realistic fit and check the windows etc line up

like so:
İmage

once your completely happy turn it over and trace round it onto your chosen vinyl wrap (you need to use something extremely sharp if you use DiNoc as it's very thick, I use a scalpel)

it should resemble this:

İmage

So onto the wrapping. I've not taken photos of this as there's loads of guides on YT and it depends on the type of vinyl as to how you would use it but again with DiNoc you can lay it down and pick it back up loads of times until it's just so. I would also use a hair dryer to soften it (especially round the corners) but don't stretch it too much and I also used some surface prep around the cut out windows and edges to ensure it adheres properly and doesn't lift up.

When you get to the join you have two choices either let it overlap, with thinner vinyl this is probably fine but with DiNoc you really want to butt the join together, run the scalpel over the middle of the two joins and then remove both the top piece and bottom piece and then relay the DiNoc again and it should butt up together nicely.

anyhow the finished result should look like this not to everyones taste but it is to mine Tongue

İmage

İmage

and with little brother Wink

İmage

Cheers

What I really like is the fact a man style box can become much more girlie too.

Lol hope it's of use, let me know if you want the files (happy for someone to upload them somewhere to make it easier if that's possible)

You can get pink carbon fibre ..... in fact almost anything as I said the 3M stuff is very good, although I only did this today and have no idea how it will react to e-liquid Big Grin
