If it's shiny, what about a glossy transparent skin or if it's satin a matt transparent skin; seals the air from it.

if not mix a bit of talcum powder in
or get some red jewelers rouge

Autosol is perfect.

+1 Autosol...ive not used it on mods having brushed ss and brass but have used it regularly on my bike panels and cases. If i remember correctly there are different grades with the extra fine designed for softer metals....gives a mirror polish on my ally engine casing Wink
