VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
It has always been a rule on UK Vapers that all classified transactions must be done via PayPal Goods and Services (Not PayPal Gift / Friends and Family).

The reason for this is simple - if you pay via goods and services you can make a claim to get your money back if the goods are not delivered. If you pay via paypal gift, then you're out of luck and out of pocket with no recourse to reclaim your money.

Unfortunately, it seems a number of members are ignoring this and seemingly think they are above the rules of the forum. This will end, and it will end now: From this moment, anyone at all who requests or offers payment by PayPal Gift will be permanently banned with no second chances and no appeal

We don't have access to PMs so we would ask that anyone receiving such a request lets us know via the contact us forum so we can take action

The vast majority of members on here are honest, but the rule is there to protect everyone and we expect everyone to abide by it

RE: VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
i totally understand your reasons phil, however......

very occasionally someone will pm me asking if i would accept less than my asking price when i'm selling an item.
sometimes i'm feeling charitable and suggest a lower price, but ask if this lower price could be paid 'friends and family'.
this means both sides of the deal benefit slightly from the private price adjustment.

would this now be considered unacceptable?

cheers,
dave.

RE: VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
if in doubt reread rule no 1 ..

What does it matter now if men believe or no?
What is to come will come. And soon you too will stand aside,
To murmur in pity that my words were true
(Cassandra, in Agamemnon by Aeschylus)
To see the wizard one must look behind the curtain ....

The rule is absolute - Anyone requesting payment by PayPal Gift will be permanently banned with no second chances and no appeals so it would be considered unacceptable

RE: VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
Can I suggest that you also apply the same ban-hammer to anyone offering to pay by Gift/F&F to remove any confusion

RE: VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
I've only ever been asked once and I've never asked for it myself. I've done 30 odd trades on here and everyone I've dealt with have been straight even the fella who asked for f&f payment. I agree totally with the forum rules, they're here to protect us all.

İmage

^^shinyitus has put paid to most of that "saved" amount^^

RE: VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
Purely as a matter of interest, if you were to pay by bank transfer I'm assuming you would have some protection from your bank if goods weren't delivered, as in you could instruct the bank to reclaim your money?

I don't know this as a matter of fact, just assuming it to be the case - anybody know?

RE: VERY, VERY IMPORTANT - PayPal Gift
My understanding is a bank transfer gives you absolutely no protection at all (unless it's been fraudulently made without your knowledge) - once you've transferred the money, it's gone!

Nope, once you've sent the money there's no way to get it back. The only time I have managed to do it was when I entered an invalid account# but that was because the money had no account to go to. If it goes to a valid account it's unrecoverable.
