eGo battery. Blue light stays on while charging.
Bought this kit off market only 2 weeks ago.
Have charged battery 6 times.
Started at 2 1/2 hours then went up gradually to 5 hours.
Then the last time I charged it the blue light stayed on while it was charging but it still charged.
Charged it overnight last night (forgot to unplug it).
This morning it won't work and if I try to re-charge it the blue light stays on again.
It's still not working !!!!!
HELP !!!! I do not want to go back to 40 cigs a day !!!

RE: eGo battery. Blue light stays on while charging.
Every ego battery I have has a light permanently on when being charged..

However there is a chance the battery has died,

I would grab another just in case

RE: eGo battery. Blue light stays on while charging.
DO NOT leave these on charge overnight, or even more than a few hours (depending on capacity). You are lucky they didn't explode.

My unbranded copy-cat eGo batteries do blue-light while charging and the light goes off about 10 mins before charging is complete as indicated by the charger, although one of them did develop a fault and the light failed to extinguish and the battery became warm to the touch. It doesn't always do it, but I keep my eye on it and as soon as a feel any heat it is taken off charge.

As for it not working, it could be that the positive centre-pin has been pushed down. Try easing it up a millimetre or two with something small and pointy. If you have a multimeter you could test it with that.

EDIT: My genuine Joye eGo battery does not remain lit when charging, it just flashes a few times when charging commences.

total and utter rubbish.. keep things in perspective please..

if the bloody things were that dangerous there would be stories of exploding batteries all over the place.. and no i am not advising people to leave their batteries on charge overnight even though i and probably most other users do..

some perspective please.. lets not generate too much paranoia..

RE: eGo battery. Blue light stays on while charging.
I have 2 ego twists bought from joyetech web site - both have 'light out' when charging.

I have 2 600mah egos from liberty flights - both have blue light permanently on when charging.

No idea if this is normal (no instructions when any of them) but they charge up OK.

Don't go back to 40 cigs Eni, just call it a bum day and buy a couple more batteries from one of the many recommended vendors on this forum. Thumbs Up

Did you see the videos Trog?

These cheapo copy-cat eGo batteries and the chargers that are supplied with them rarely have overcharge protection. EGo batteries are also not vented. I have no doubt that the copy-cat battery I have that has developed the fault would have a serious issue if I left it on charge overnight. The first time I noticed the fault it was hot... very hot. That was after 4 hours of charging. After that I learned to keep an eye on it and remove it when it starts to get warm.

It was supplied in a kit with another identical battery. The other battery has not developed the fault and its light extinguishes as it should, 10 mins before the charger light turns green. It also remains stone-cold while charging.

As the battery mentioned in the OP is also failing to extinguish the light when charged then I assume that a similar fault could exist. It would be irresponsible of me not to share my experiences. To claim it's 'total and utter rubbish' is irresponsible IMO. These things do happen and I have provided evidence to support that claim.

the term ego battery covers a multitude of similar looking but not the same batteries.. it used to be a brand name but its now just a cover all name for certain size batteries with a 510 thread..

To clarify, I am referring to the cheap unbranded copy-cat batteries as this seems to be what the OP has.
