RE: Stereotypical Sub ohm guys ???
I have tattoos (but not sleeves), piercings below the neckline, a sizeable beard, a liking for hats (but not baseball caps), a huge collection of SciFi T-shirts, I favour jeans of the skinny variety and I "sub-ohm"
BUT
My boots are black which matches my walking stick, my beard could get me work as a Santa Claus for kids parties, the only waxing I do is polishing those black boots of mine and I don't cloud chase!!!!! My juice is 18mg, I toot in a civilised manner, my beer is brown and from Newcastle, my smartphone stays in my pocket when I'm with company, and I hold doors open for people walking behind me.
The stereotype described in the OP is not one I'd associate with sub-ohming or even cloud chasing, but with being an arrogant, overconfident, world-owes-me-a-living, "old people just don't understand what it's like being young in the 21st century, I bet they all voted for Brexit and ruined everything for us", know it all twat*.
But what do I know??

*As with all stereotypes, exceptions will apply.

All of that is true, but it is interesting at least there does seem to be a recognisable sub culture, seemingly mainly in America, which involves tats, hats, piercings, facial hair and cloud chasing. It does seem to be a thing, and while it doesn't matter I find it quite interesting how these social groupings/norms develop.

RE: Stereotypical Sub ohm guys ???
If I chose to dress a certain way in order to look like and fit in with my preferred social group, to wear my hair (or beard) in a style that makes us look alike and adopted behaviours, attitudes or linguistic quirks to identify myself as one of them, it would be pretty disingenuous of me to accuse the people who recognised my attempt to follow my chosen herd, of being "sheeple".

This is exactly my point.
I'm not trying to knock people about the way they choose to look.My mother- in- law has her left nipple pierced and I'm cool with thatSmiling
( looks good too)
I'm just trying to understand the connection with sub ohm = beards, hats, piercings and tats for a large percentage.
