Was thinking of wacking a 3mm .5 in 45 watts, does the K5 have a limit of how many ohms it can handle though? Where does it lose its taste?

RE: What builds you lot using in your Kayfun 5's?
I am currently using a 3mm ID kanthal spaced coil with 7 wraps. Comes out at a shade under 0.5ohms and I'm using it on a regulated mod at 30w.

Your suggested build sounds far too hot for me.

3mm 0.5 i assume is 24 AWG kanthal 3mm ID? or is it 0.5 ohm of a non-disclosed gauge?

to handle 45W, 24 gauge kanthal wire needs about 11-13 wraps with 3mm ID (1 - 1.2 ohm)

if it is say 316 SS - 24 gauge 3mm ID needs 12-14 wraps comes out 0.6-0.7 ohm to hit your 45W target

i'd just make a coil with say ~6-8 wraps and adjust the wattage to suit

you need a certain amount of metal mass to be in vaping range for a set wattage
i'm not sure the likes of kayfun, rose and squape are best suited to vaping @ 45W - most seem to find their sweet-spot on single coil flavour atty's @ 12-30W

İmage

RE: What builds you lot using in your Kayfun 5's?
My go to build for a K5 is 3mm spaced coil. Doesn't really matter what wire I use because I tend to use Temp Control on a regulated mod so the resistance doesn't matter much either.

If you are using non TC wire a wattage of 30w would certainly be a good place to start but that does depend on the thickness of the wire you use. You'll need more for thicker wire (24AWG).

There isn't really an ohm limit on any atomiser its all about the wire you use and the power you send to it.

September 2013 I was hooked on cigarettes. After the purchase of many tanks, batteries, atomizers, mods, Box mods etc. I'm hooked on vaping........but I haven't smoked a single cigarette.Dance

For the natural extracts in the K5:
26 ga Kanthal, 8 wraps, 12 watts 1.2 ohm on a Eko-Wool 3mm wick
That's my sweet spot.

Hi @nayngnottz94

Depending on what juice I'm vaping, my go to build is twisted 32g (or 30g works really nice) 2.5mm 7 wraps coming in at around 1.0.
Firing 14-18W....magic

He's flounced off. He always did seem a bit short tempered to me (I wonder why that was?). 92
