Who supported and who betrayed us?
I'd like a list of the MEPs who supported or betrayed us in the ENVI vote and those who weren't on ENVI but have declared positions to help us target action. Please add names to the list below. I will make this a sticky. Perhaps people can check this list: http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtra...a-ban.html and ensure where it is still accurate (it's a bit old) that the names are added below. I think we should then start on a list if MPs...

Supported us:

Chris Davies (Lib Dem)
Nikki Sinclaire
Jacqueline Foster

Betrayed us:

Linda McAvan (Labour)

This excellent article might help people in naming names: http://josefk1925.wordpress.com/2013/07/...er-e-cigs/

Sadly, I'm afraid that counts as criminal damage - we are the good guys remember!

Very true, it goes without saying I do not advocate breaking the law to get our point across.

I wonder if all the taxis on the rank at Place Luxembourg would be allowed/could be persuaded to brandish a window sticker? That would resonate far more than slapping them on the McAvan and Willmott chariots... Wink

RE: Who supported and who betrayed us?
I'm not sure they even record who votes for what. I watched the voting on the JURI and ENVI committees and they go at a breathtaking pace, only pausing occasionally for an electronic vote when the result is not obvious from a show of hands. The following applies to plenary voting, but is probably indicative of the way it's done in committees too:

Normally MEPs vote by show of hands, and the President of the sitting determines the majorities in each case. If the show of hands is unclear, the president calls for an electronic vote to secure a more precise result. A roll call vote must be taken if requested by a political group or at least 40 Members the evening before the vote. In this case, the individual vote cast by each MEP is recorded and published in an annex to the minutes, unless voting by secret ballot has also been requested.

I will be happy to add my MEPs to the list but none of them were on ENVI. You also need a category for those who don't bother to reply to emails Wink

RE: Who supported and who betrayed us?
Apparently it was an electronic vote (asked for by Chris Davis) so should be recorded.......I've tweeted Mathias Groote (sp?) and asked for the list of which way UK MEP's voted.

I will Email him as well when I get a chance.

Email: matthias.groote@europarl.europa.eu

Twitter: @Groote

Please remember he is on our side !

RE: Who supported and who betrayed us?
There are 24 Christian Democrats(old Tories) and 17 Labour - most will have voted against.

The Lib/Dems have 8 and the new Tories(mainly UK) - ECR - have 6. Various Greens have 9.

We needed the Christian Dems on our side to stand a chance.

Onward Christian soldiersHeHe!
